I’ve been in love with this world and already liked the MC from previous installments but this particular story invested my interest on a new level. Not many authors can juggle multiple POV’s well without losing pace, but Mr. Sullivan does seamlessly. And he never fails to make even unlikeable characters interesting.

But as someone who pursued education in archaeology, it’s always been important to me to view ancient texts through the lens of their origin cultures. This includes the Bible. The late Dr. Heiser places in laser focus how Bronze Age and 2nd Temple Period Jews would have perceived reality, providing a different framework for unpacking Biblical texts than most modern laypeople (and even many Biblical scholars) are accustomed to. Paradigm-shifting, even.
