I love God stories! Sharing what God has done in my life and hearing othersā stories is a passion of mine. Iāve had a lot of opportunities to grow in my faith; however, nothing matures someone faster than going through a hard season. Mine came when I was a mom of four young children and endured cancer treatments during the Covid lockdowns. I went from feeling anxious and alone to remembering Godās love. Reading othersā stories encouraged me when the weight of life brought me down, and I want to pay it forward by giving the world my story too.
Allie uses her struggles during college and the beginning of her career to point out the flaws of selfishness within our culture.
Seeing how to lean on Jesus (who is enough) and not on myself, helped me not worry about being strong or brave during my own suffering. I tend to strive for perfection, but Allieās stories made me aware of the secular influence in social media and TV shows that push me toward that unbiblical worldview.
Now, I can better point out a misleading message and combat it with the truth found in scripture.
From one of the sharpest Christian voices of her generation and host of the podcast Relatable comes a framework for escaping our culture of trendy narcissismāand embracing God instead.Ā
We're told that the key to happiness is self-love. Instagram influencers, mommy bloggers, self-help gurus, and even Christian teachers promise that if we learn to love ourselves, we'll be successful, secure, and complete. But the promise doesn't deliver. Instead of feeling fulfilled, our pursuit of self-love traps us in an exhausting cycle: as we strive for self-acceptance, we become addicted to self-improvement.
The truth is we can't find satisfaction inside ourselvesā¦

Pierce Taylor Hibbs (MAR, ThM Westminster Theological Seminary) has lived with an anxiety disorder for over fourteen years and offers a unique perspective on how anxiety and faith are interconnected. He is the award-winning Christian author of many books, including Struck Down but Not Destroyed: Living Faithfully with Anxiety. I constantly struggle with negative thoughts and anxieties and what-ifs. They trap me. And itās ridiculously difficult to find a way out. JennieAllen seems to be a natural-born encourager, and she draws on her own faith crisis to teach us how to replace negative thoughts with God-given positive ones. She shows that approaching anxiety is often a matter of consistent mental work, and I can attest to that! Having a strategy in place goes a long way, and thatās what I found in this book.

I loved this book! Itās easy to get stuck on being busy with many tasks and responsibilities, and not move forward in our lives and careers.
This book helped me learn systems to become more efficient (in life and work), identify what was holding me back from being more empowered with my choices, and recognize when to say yes, and when to say no. Leaving the military ā where ānoā isnāt as much of an option, this is a good skill for veterans to embrace.

When writing about the everyday challenges that women face within the workplace, I aim to express the events that occur before, during, and after the experience. Unpopular belief, life doesnāt go back to normal for most of us, as getting back to normal from any traumatic experience will leave you shielded. I found my voice through writing about my passion for enabling female empowerment. My path as a woman in leadership came from understanding the lack of consistent supportive resources, encouragement, and validation, amongst women in the workplace. Through my writing, I aim to creatively empower and encourage my readers to find their voice.Ā

As a counselor and infidelity specialist for 33 years, I have had a passion for helping couples and individuals reconcile when possible or find healing for themselves in the aftermath of an affair. I never dreamed Iād go through this experience in my own marriage. Back then (1999ā2001), few books addressed what I was going through. Most either focused on repairing a marriage after infidelity or general divorce recovery. Nothing addressed the combined traumas of suffering both infidelity and marital rejection in succession. Thatās when I decided to write a book chronicling my own journey to health, two decades later.
I found this a terrific book that weaves the author's personal story throughout her writing.
I appreciated her honesty regarding her own struggles and imperfect reactions to the loss of her marriage. She handily debunks some of the lies we believe about ourselves when we go through an unwanted divorce. I was inspired by the ways she relied on God without feeling she was over-spiritualizing her journey.
One of the most authentic authors I have read on this topic. I admired how transparent she was about her mistakes and successes in parenting her children through the process. Insightful and encouraging. Not your average nonfiction book on divorce.
If you are reeling from a divorce you never wanted, This Was Never the Plan is a lifeline. - Steve Grissom, Founder of DivorceCare
Divorce brings a storm of emotions: grief, anger, confusion and shame. Yet while the ache lingers, life goes on.
Vaneetha Risner has walked through this pain. In this hopeful and honest book, she draws from Scripture and her own story to offer compassionate wisdom on...
Finding emotional clarity and letting go of shame Trusting God in the uncertainties ahead Healing relationally, resisting bitterness and finding community Nurturing hope for the future
Iāve always loved stories. I love diving in and immersing myself in the fictional lives of characters who will inevitably become to me like dear friends. Autobiographies are no different except that the events depictedāthose harrowing, heartbreaking, jaw-dropping, stirring, and inspiring eventsāare true. As I read these personal stories, my understanding of the world expands. I grow to appreciate those whose life experiences and ways of thinking differ from my own, and, by their example, Iām encouraged to persevere until Iāve overcome the challenges in my own life.
I picked up a copy of this book at a time in my life when I was feeling less than, left out, and lonely.Ā After experiencing the sting of multiple rejections, I had forgotten who I wasāa person of incredible value.
But I was encouraged as I read Lysa TerKeurstās story of being abandoned by her father, which resulted in a deep sense of rejection, and how she was able to heal by embracing her identity as a dearly loved child of God.
Lysaās personal narrative was interwoven with practical advice in such a caring way that I felt like I was having coffee with a dear friend.
If you are struggling with your sense of belonging, I highly recommend this book.Ā
Do you ever feel left out, lonely, or less than? Learn the secret of belonging, which will help you keep rejections in perspective and be better equipped to foster healthy connections in your relationships.
New York Times bestselling author Lysa TerKeurst shares her own deeply personal experiences of rejection from the perceived judgment of the perfectly toned woman one elliptical over to the incredibly painful childhood abandonment by her father. She leans in to honestly examine the roots of rejection, as well as rejection's ability to poison relationships from the inside out, including our relationshipā¦
Iāve been a reader since childhood and books have simply become a part of my lifeās tapestry. They have comforted me in times of stress. They have provided me with ripples of joy. And simply kept me up almost all night. The books that I have recommended underscore the changing cultures of the human condition all centered around three universal themes, faith, mental illness, and family. When drafting my first novel I dived into simply capturing aspects of the human condition. As a mental health clinician I see the many tides of life and how the human condition has many times been couched within family dynamics.
This book is all about relationships. It is about a relationship with God and his people and that we are certainly more alike than different. Woman Evolve takes the reader through the story of Eve and shows the reader just how she is relatable to each and every one of us. Eve was human and we are human. She had flaws and we have flaws. Her vulnerabilities are also ours and before we point the blame at her, or anyone else for that matter we can look right back at ourselves and understand how each and every one of us doesnāt necessarily deserve redemption, but God gave it anyway. Want a good read, this book will keep you turning page after page as the reader and author explores just how fallible, alike, and loved we all are.
A New York Times bestseller! With life lessons she's learned and new insights from the story of Eve, Sarah Jakes Roberts shows you how past disappointments, struggles, and even mistakes can be used today to help you become the woman God intended.
Who would imagine being friends with Eve-the woman who's been held responsible for the fall of humanity (and cramps) for thousands of years? Certainly not Sarah Jakes Roberts. That is, not until Sarah discovered she is more like Eve than she cares to admit.
Everyone faces trials, and everyone will mess up. But failure should not be theā¦
Iāve had other Sisters in Christ, but it wasnāt until God introduced me to an amazing woman that I truly started to understand what it meant to be a Sister in Christ. A Sister in Christ is someone who encourages you, speaks the truth in love, and always points you back to Godās truths. She laughs with you, cries with you, and simply loves to do life with you. Sisters in Christ was born from this amazing friendship. To have this type of relationship is truly a blessing from God that needs to be shared in a community of fellow believers.Ā
This book is amazing. I love how the author not only explains the reasons behind mentoring and the importance of mentoring and how God instructs older women in Titus 2 to mentor younger women, and older men to mentor younger men, but the reason behind mentoring.
This book reminded me a lot of Sisters in Christ especially how the author broke down Titus 2 as talked about above. I loved the stories and quotes shared by real mentoring relationships woven throughout the book. This made it more personal and also got me more excited.
I have been following this authorās blog for years and this book just felt like a giant hug from a friend.Ā
Realize the value and blessings of participating in mentoring relationships during all stages, ages, and seasons of life.
Women often don't think they know enough to be a mentor, or fear rejection if they ask someone to mentor them. Others don't think they need mentoring. However, throughout the Bible, God calls spiritually younger and older women to learn from and teach one another.
Mentoring for All Seasons helps answer questions like these: - What is mentoring? - How do I find a mentor? - Why does God want us to mentor one another? - What are the blessings of mentoring?
When my mother died at age 83, I became executor of her estate. When our son was diagnosed with a brain tumor at age 22 and went through four brain surgeries in nine months, I acted as his caregiver while also caring for my father, who was dying from cancer. As a Christian, I wanted to learn what the Bible taught me about the hope of Heaven, leaving a legacy (my mother made it easier to be her executor by organizing her essential information), caregiving, and aging wisely. As an author, life, and legacy coach, and speaker, I love sharing the hope, peace, and comfort I gained through these resources.Ā
We all need stories of real women aging wisely and well, and Betters, who is in her seventies, and Hunt, who is in her eighties, live and tell vibrant and inspiring stories. I love the way they share biblical examples of women who aged with grace and real-life examples. This book makes me want to honor older women and to become an honorable older woman.Ā
Today's culture marginalizes old age, often portraying it as burdensome and hopeless. Here is a book that presents examples of women who have found joy in the passing of time as they age with grace-finding fulfillment in their enjoyment of God.
A poisonous maiden, a Daoist sex cult, and a violent insurgency.

My life was turned upside down because of a devastating divorce, becoming an empty nester, and my job as a theology professor ending. The identity crisis was real because the doing that gave me purpose was gone, yet God had a lesson and a purpose. I realized that what was left was more than what left me, and I understand that the key to resilience is your spiritual foundation. I believe the crown you wear is the treasure; elevation begins head first. Today, I empower women to live life confidently, on their terms, with peace and financial security. I help women reframe their stories, reinvent themselves, and reimagine their future.
I love how Beth Moore invites you to get comfortable yet uncomfortable in her book. She challenges whether you believe big and act on it. This is so important for changing your thoughts and elevating them for more.
The entire book keeps you engaged, reflecting, and dreaming of more. Itās like having a tall glass of lemonade on the porch with a friend who knows you deeply and expects more from you, so she allows you to want it without you realizing youāve been up-leveled.
This book puts your faith on steroids, and you will believe bigger and actually want to do something about it.Ā
Thirty years in the making, Audacious is a deep dive into the message that has compelled Beth Moore to serve women around the globe. Glancing over the years of ministry behind her and strengthening her resolve to the call before her, she came to the realization that her vision for women was incomplete. It lacked something they were aching for. Something Jesus was longing for. Beth identifies that missing link by digging through Scripture, unearthing life experiences, and spotlighting a turning point with the capacity to infuse any life with holy passion and purpose. What was missing? Well, let's justā¦
