Heartbreaking and heartwarming story about a 11-year-old forced to grow up too quickly. The characters are so real you can't help but be invested in their journey. Hank is fiercly protective of his young sibling, which motivates most of his choices throughout the book. I cried through about 60% of the book, mostly at these characters abilities to remain compassionate after being severely wounded by life's hardships.
