I have never read a book that immersed me into another culture the way this book did. Nor have I read a book that comes with a map, a recipe, and a discussion guide. For someone like me who is generally anxious about traveling and taking risks, this book makes you want to hop the next plane to Paris.
Such wonderful descriptions of Paris and of food. Plus the underlying plot was strong and the characters well-developed.
