Rebecca Hartt ❤️ loved this book because...

I have never read a book that immersed me into another culture the way this book did. Nor have I read a book that comes with a map, a recipe, and a discussion guide. For someone like me who is generally anxious about traveling and taking risks, this book makes you want to hop the next plane to Paris.

What is this book about?

'No one writes about food like Ruth Reichl... I consider her essential nourishment.' NIGELLA LAWSON

Ripping open the envelope, she read Celia's last words to her. There was just one line written on the paper: 'Go to Paris.'

The last word anyone would use to describe Stella St. Vincent is adventurous. She's perfectly comfortable with the familiar, strict routines of her life as a copyeditor in New York. Or at least, she is until she receives a mysterious note from her late mother and a one-way plane ticket to Paris.

Alone and overwhelmed in a foreign city, Stella avoids new…

Book cover of The Hazelbourne Ladies Motorcycle and Flying Club

Rebecca Hartt ❤️ loved this book because...

I loved learning about a time in history, post WWI, when women had stepped up to keep things running at home, only to have to give up control when the menfolk returned home. This book transported me in time, plus I loved the romantic thread because I'm a sucker for romance.

My 3rd favorite read in 2025

Book cover of The Hiding Place

Rebecca Hartt ❤️ loved this book because...

This book amazed me. As a writer of Christian Romantic Suspense, I've always thought I understood what it means to live by faith but Corrie Ten Boom and her sisters went to a concentration camp for helping Jews during WWII, then after the war, Corrie opened a mental health retreat for EVERYONE, including former Nazis and traitors. She and her sister set a high bar for any Christian to follow in their harrowing footsteps. Talk about inspirational!
