Will I love The Jesus Storybook Bible?

One of the greatest parts about this book is the illustrations! Yes, the story is fabulous, too, especially because it's a child version of the Bible stories, but man, the illustrations just send it over the top.

The Bible is too difficult for young readers to comprehend, but this book does such a great job of making the stories understandable for little guys that when my kids and I read it, we all come away with a childlike understanding of the original Bible stories.

I’ve lost track of how many times my daughter has asked me to re-read the story of Jonah from this book.

It does a great job of presenting Biblical history in a simplified way for kids to understand, and showing how the Old Testament points forward to Jesus. The art style is dynamic and every now and then you have to turn it 90 degrees to see something like Goliath towering over teeny-tiny David.

The stories in this book all point back to Jesus, and God’s “rescue plan” which he had in mind from the very beginning. I love that through the author’s use of repeated phrases children start to discover the big story of the Bible. “The story of how God loves his children and comes to rescue them.”
