A pleasant surprise. I was hesitant to try a political thriller with all the world has become, but I found this riveting from the start. There's just enough history without the author trying to show how smart he is. The White House is the backdrop, yes, but it's not about politics—it's about the fictional president and his mysterious life. Short scenes, non-stop action, lots of cliffhangers. So much fun. It's "National Treasure" in a novel, filled with conspiracies, secrets, and unknown truths. Definitely will keep reading the series (which I appreciate is only three books and not, say, eight or…
