Will I love Plain Truth?

I loved this book because it tells the story of a topic about which I had already formed an opinion, but through her strong narrative, my opinion was changed.

Although this book's plot is similar to mine, this one does not focus on the relationship between the lawyer and the client.

This is, without question, my favorite Jodi Picoult novel. I love all the characters in the book, but my favorites are Katie Fisher, a young Amish woman who is accused of having murdered her newborn baby, and her boyfriend Samuel Stoltzfus, who loves Katie so very much.

I was moved by Katie’s courage in the face of incredible difficulty.   

Told by an outsider, lawyer Ellie Hathaway, who left the Amish community years ago, Picoult immerses us in a stunning and heartbreaking story of a young Amish girl accused of murdering her newborn.

I admire the amount of research Picoult did to stay true to many of the Amish traditions, but she also spins a mesmerizing tale that captivated me emotionally and provided many twists and turns, including an unexpected and shocking reveal at the end. The story left many haunting moral questions that lingered long after I finished the book.
