I first read this book when I was in my twenties, the same age as Tommy and Tuppence (Prudence) Beresford, the protagonists.
I immediately wanted to be Tuppence and married to Tommy! The two of them are young and adventurous in post-WWI London. They not only solve mysteries, but Tuppence does it while wearing fabulous 1920s outfits that I can only dream about.

From Suzanne's list on the Roaring Twenties (and how!).
Murder, espionage, and weight loss clinics make up the challenges faced by Tommy and Tuppence in what I consider to be Christie’s most engaging book. The concept of a loving pair getting bored and deciding to use their energy to solve crimes was delightful. Christie takes a long honest look at human nature, and despite the murder and betrayal, laughs, for we are absurd.
From Betty's list on to laugh at the absurdity of human nature.
