Why read it?
2 authors picked I, Partridge as one of their favorite books. Why do they recommend it?
This is textbook Partridge (even though it isn't a textbook). Norfolk's finest DJ, and some might say, folk hero, lays bare his life story like a circa-1970s Razzle centrefold. From his highs as a BBC TV presenter, to his lows when he accidentally shot one of his guests live on air (something the tabloid media picked up on). The downward spiral which saw him become Toblerone-addict and drive to Dundee in his bare feet, to his reinvention as an author with the book that announced his comeback in less than three words: Bouncing Back.
For the simple reason that it’s very, very funny, which is probably the hardest trick to pull off in books. Lots of them are funny in theory; this book is properly, laugh-out-loud funny throughout.
You probably need to have some familiarity with the character and TV show/shows, but that assumed, this is side-splitting stuff from start to end.
