I re-read this book to help me understand all the wars and coups happening now. It is a very simple, straight forward explanation of the mechanics of overthrowing a government by another government for private profits.
I think that people don’t want to know how the sausage is made. We want fruits out of season and clothes for a fraction of what our parents paid for them, and we don’t really care how that happens behind the scenes.
But John Perkins was literally one of the guys behind the scenes on a global scale, and what he was doing wasn’t good, but it was eye-opening.
