There's a reason they're hits. Lived-in world and with great characters.

This is the third book in The Expanse series, and the world building and characters just get better and better (and they were brilliant to start with). The crew on the Rocinante (and I include interlopers Bobbie and the foul-mouthed Avasarala in that max) are among my all-time favourite literary ensembles. Like the first two books, this one is intelligent and profound, but also action-packed, funny and grounded in a way you don't often get in sci fi.
