The pace is quick when the action ensues, and hovers deep in emotion in all the right places. But what I loved most about this book were the characters. Teo, Aurelio, and Nya are well thought out protagonists, tasked with battling monsters all the while dealing with the tragedy of both physical and mental trauma. I was along for the ride from the very beginning. I cannot wait to see what comes next from this author.
