The plot was exactly what I was craving, a historical fiction work set in the days of Queen Elizabeth. The character becomes a female spy for the queen. That is all I can say. No spoilers! This is the first piece in a series and Ms. Fiona Buckley set the hook well. I went on to read the rest of the series.
