I thought I knew what I was getting into, but what I got was so much more: weird, fast, darkly funny, and completely unpredictable.

I loved how quickly the tension ramped up. Within just a few pages, Tommy is being hunted by a creature that literally gets stronger the longer he runs. It felt like watching a horror movie in fast-forward. What really surprised me, though, was how much I laughed. Koontz balances the terror with moments of absurdity and wit.
