Why read it?

1 author picked Think on These Things as one of their favorite books. Why do they recommend it?

Krishnamurti shook me to my foundation. He made me aware that I was unaware. It was like learning that 1+1=2. He shows us how to decondition ourselves. It teaches us how to deal with people as an experience on this planet that we don’t own.

How to observe and take in without judging. I don’t think we teach this well now. We can only learn to be aware by studying at the feet of history's great teachers. It’s a great feeling. I used to give it to students in high school to shake them up.
