Why read it?

1 author picked The Well of Loneliness as one of their favorite books. Why do they recommend it?

It is the story of Stephen Gordon, an Englishwoman who struggles to be who she knows she is in her upper-class society. Stephen’s strength and compassion, and her courage kept me reading while I was in the early stages of my own discovery.
