Will I love The Wandering Inn?

I am so impressed by Pirateaba’s worldbuilding. While there are some fantasy staples in the series, like dragons and dwarves, there are also plenty of lesser-seen races, like gnolls and djinni, and some that are completely unique creations, like the Antinium and the Gazers.

What’s more, all of these races feel like they have their own identities and shared culture, and then, on top of that, individuals from each race are distinct! Two gnolls won’t necessarily see eye-to-eye just because they’re gnolls.

The character work in this book is so good.

This is the biggest, most overwhelmingly awesome fantasy story I’ve ever read, bar none. I started reading it and kept doing so non-stop for probably well over a month. It’s so good that I basically did nothing except read, go to class, and do the usual self-care.

It’s a story about a thousand people from Earth scattered across a vast fantasy world, and you really get to see every nook and cranny of this world across the series. Because this is an ancient world, every nook and cranny actually has something fascinating to find. I just absolutely love this story. 

This is not a story. It is a journey into another, fully fleshed-out world. With over 7 million words written (the equivalent of 40 books), you’ll slowly get to know and fall in love with Erin, a simple girl from Earth who finds herself in a fantasy world governed by skills and levels. Her only strength is her perky personality and mediocre pasta-making skills, but as an innkeeper she slowly grows to influence the entire world. A world that is so detailed and thought over, it's truly like a journey into a new world.
