Why read it?

3 authors picked The Summer I Turned Pretty as one of their favorite books. Why do they recommend it?

Alison Rose Greenberg

Author

I’m a sucker for YA and love triangles, and the love triangle between Belly, Conrad, and Jeremiah is one for the ages!

Watching Belly come alive in Cousins is such a delight, and from the moment both boys see Belly emerge from the car that summer, I couldn’t put the book down. Belly’s crush on Conrad delivers such good teenage pining.

From Alison's list on The best summertime romance books.

Sarah J. Hodder

Author

My daughter loves this type of book; it’s highly engaging and full of cliffhangers that keep you reading.

The main characters are two brothers, and the tale is about a teenage girl and her feelings towards both brothers. It’s a story of love, friendship and choices; and a perfect read for the teenage market.

From Sarah's 14-year-old's 3 favorite reads in 2023.

They say you never forget your first crush, and this young adult romance perfectly captures the headiness and angst of falling in love (at any age). Jenny Han pours emotion onto the page, and the love triangle between Belly and the Fisher brothers makes for the best kind of romantic tension. I devoured the whole series.

From Anna's list on The best romance books with longing so intense, you’ll swoon.
