Why read it?

2 authors picked The Seventh Floor as one of their favorite books. Why do they recommend it?

What do you get when you combine a disgruntled employee, alligators, organizational politics, and espionage? A compelling look into the culture of the CIA.

Strong characters lead this hunt for a mole within the CIA. Two of the most interesting are women who are radically different from each other. One is rooted organizational politics. The other is determined to save the organization by finding a mole and righting a wrong.

It’s both entertaining and insightful. McCloskey takes a strategic and intellectual approach to the story, which is, for me, refreshing.

David McCloskey's "7th Floor"... with a whirlwind performance by my favorite antagonist Artemis Procter (she succeeds in antagonizing everyone). David brings his writing, analytical, and tradecraft skills to the game and delivers a realistic (specific cookies about the OOB & NOB) page turner of a hunt for betrayal. -- I took it off the TBR pile early and 48 hours later realized I finished it.

The author's experience as a former CIA officer show in his writing, the tradecraft he infuses into the story is genuinely accurate and the 7th Floor’s bureaucracy maddeningly real.
