Why read it?

1 author picked The Saucer-Heads as one of their favorite books. Why do they recommend it?

I can identify with the protagonist, Slater, a private investigator with a lot of problems, like his drinking, his anger issues, and his sex addiction.

His struggles often make me wince and sometimes make me happy when he figures out some aspect of his stuff. In the book, Slater encounters a variety of UFO believers from the past and the present day, and as he gets more familiar with their arcane belief system, he starts to question his own beliefs.

The book is engaging, a fast, breezy read with lots of cartoonish fisticuffs and lots of gay sex.
