Book cover of The One with the Kiss Cam

Book description

It was just one date.

My friend told me I needed more fun in my life, so I reluctantly said yes. Fun wasn’t exactly in my wheelhouse. After watching my own mother’s love life implode time and time again it’s only natural that I have a few rules to protect…

Why read it?

3 authors picked The One with the Kiss Cam as one of their favorite books. Why do they recommend it?

From the first page, I knew I wasn’t going to put down Cindy Steel’s rom-com to eat or sleep until the ride was over.

The characters shine vividly, the plot set-up of being with the wrong blind date at a basketball game while a quiet, thoughtful guy takes her attention is so much fun, and the witty banter is unreal. Steel’s writing is easy to devour, and I don’t think I stopped grinning until way after the last page.

This is a yearly reread for me and the measuring stick for all banter-and-swoon books I read.

I adored everything about this book. From the very original beginning all the way to the very satisfying end. I didn't want to stop reading and the book was so good I would happily reread it. The banter, the swoons, the everything. Cindy Stell is fabulous at writing romance.

I did not want this book to end; it’s that good! The beginning had me rolling and laughing, with the meet-cute at the basketball game and the “kiss cam” moment. But the rest of the book gave major Cinderella vibes, and that’s my favorite fairy tale of all time.

I loved how Duke cared for Nora and did everything he could to take care of her, and I loved how they overcame their past hurts together. This was a really beautiful story that truly felt like a fairy tale!
