Pets+heists=hilarity.

There are so many things to love about this funny, fast-paced story: the pets refer to their human as Mrs. Food. The sneaky plan they devise and why. The relationships between the entire cast of characters which includes not just Butterbean the dog but also Oscar the mynah bird, Walt the cat, a pair of rats named Marco and Polo, and others.

It is delightful, and you and your young reader will chuckle all the way through this one.

From Kristin's list on The best books for kids told from a dog’s point of view (no dogs were harmed in the making of this list!).

This book, the first in a series, is hilarious! There’s nothing quite as fun as a story with very different personalities forced to work together and this story has that in spades. Truly, animals doing anything human is funny, but forming an “International Crime Syndicate” takes it to a new level. And I loved how the animals named the humans by the job they did for the critters. It’s a fun read that will engage even the most reluctant of readers!

From PJ's list on The best middle grade books you haven’t already read with animal POV.
