Like all good plot-twisted novels, this one didn’t need the surprise revelation(s) at the end to be a compelling and immersive read, so when it comes, it feels like the cherry on top of a really creepy sundae.
The narrator's voice is compelling, especially if you enjoy Scottish-isms that feel fresh if you read mostly American authors.
