After I read this book, I immediately gave it to my wife and a friend.

I usually don’t read practical handbooks for living with bipolar disorder written by professionals who have not lived with the illness. I am including The Bipolar Disorder Survival Guide because it is best read by parents or loved ones. Those of us who live with bipolar can find some useful tools, but nowhere near get the benefits that we get from reading the real stories of other people with the illness.

The worksheets, real-world examples, and hopeful tone are meant to empower rather than overwhelm.…

This is the most concise and clear overview of bipolar disorder and the ways it which affects everybody around the identified patient. It also gives a great introduction into all the ways in which various forms of therapy and medication can help a bipolar person navigate the confusing and unpredictable symptoms of the illness.
