Will I love Stalking Jack the Ripper?

I have always been interested in the Jack the Ripper lore. If you feel the same, Stalking Jack the Ripper does not disappoint. The book follows Audrey Rose Wadsworth in Victorian-era England as she hunts Jack the Ripper. Audrey is not the typical Victorian lady. She has a passion for forensic medicine and doesn’t mind the sight of corpses. Maniscalco does a fantastic job of presenting the widely known case details while putting her own spin on it and even adding a few details.

If you have ever been fond of the board game Clue and you want to cozy up to a late-night mystery then this is the book for you. Jack the Ripper will have you questioning every character, breaking them down to try and look for clues! This novel was unlike anything I had ever read before. It was incredibly detailed and drew me in immediately but not only that, from reading it I learned things about different professions that I didn’t know a thing about which was intriguing to me. Again, I can’t resist a storyline with a teen sleuth, especially when she (or he) has to go against the grain of family and society in order to uncover the truth. Here is an intelligent teenager who also lives in a time when girls are expected simply to get married and produce children and Audrey Rose is learning how to perform autopsies and gets involved in a serial killer investigation (historically, Jack the Ripper) instead.
