Will I love Sensible Shoes?

This book was amazing and the author was incredible with how she brought spiritual truths alive using a fictious group of women that I genuinely grew to love.

It has been five to six years since I’ve read this entire series and I still remember the details of the women’s stories. It shows what it means to live as a Sister in Christ with others in community so wonderfully while pointing people to a closer relationship to God. Amazing series, this is simply the first book!

Sensible Shoes is the insightful and rewarding journey of four women, strangers in different stages of life—each with very different difficulties, needs, and backgrounds—who meet at a retreat center to embark on a spiritual journey of exploration and growth. 

Meeting weekly, they not only explore and implement new spiritual practices, but gain both personal and collective revelation. Overcoming preconceived opinions and judgments, they develop trust in one another to share intimate truths from their isolated lives.  Bearing one another’s burdens, they develop strong friendships and goals.
