Why read it?

1 author picked Present, Still Missing as one of their favorite books. Why do they recommend it?

Irene is such a lively character with a big heart. She is not afraid to speak her mind either! I enjoyed the uniqueness of the plot. First of all, it is a post-WWII story that addresses the effects of PTSD. This is something I never saw discussed in children's literature before. It is well-balanced and easy for a younger audience to understand. Of course, Irene's strong character makes the story even more relatable. I have been recommending this book to everyone I know.
