Why read it?

4 authors picked Pines as one of their favorite books. Why do they recommend it?

Blake Crouch is my favorite sci-fi author and this earlier book from his collection does not disappoint. Story includes a major plot twist and surprise that will make you think about some big questions in life. The book is a bit different than the TV series. Both are good.

It's not that thrillers need updating, but if you think they did, the novel PINES will fulfill your darkest wishes. This modern-day thriller took off like an irresistibly good bad dream and kept me shivering with page-turning anticipation all the way to the end.

I liked the clean storytelling–action-packed yet full of questions about what’s coming next.

I’ve never been disappointed by a Blake Crouch book, and this one is one of my favorites, with elements similar to Twin Peaks. With an epic idea, the plot is very compelling, with a genuinely frightening situation the main character finds himself in. I love this book because it’s one of those with a BIG twist and a constant thrill that keeps your heart pumping through every page.

Simply put, this first installment of the Wayward Pines trilogy is a mad mix of thriller, horror, fantasy, and sci-fi, perfect for those of us who miss the easy days of…
