Why read it?
1 author picked On a Wing and a Tear as one of their favorite books. Why do they recommend it?
This was my favorite children's book of the year, a road trip story about an Indigenous family from Chicago traveling to Georgia with a talking bat and squirrel who need to attend a mythic ballgame between the animals. It was hilarious and original and a glimpse into Muksogee and Cherokee and other first nations in modern times. I absolutely loved it!
