This is an old book, dating back to the Golden Age of Murder between the two world wars, but I felt that in many ways it reads as freshly as if written right now.

This is because I enjoyed being taken into the world of Mr. Pottermack, a likable and essentially decent man who plans to commit a murder. His victim is a bad guy and we are rooting for Pottermack all the way through. I enjoyed watching him work out a scheme that is very clever – it felt rather like watching an episode of Columbo.
