I have been lost both alone and with groups in the Catskills, Adirondacks, and White Mountains. Katahdin, the mountain on which the subject of this story was lost, is in a wilderness I have traveled. This boy's true ordeal brought my spirit back to walk beside him. I could feel his loneliness, sadness, and ravaged body as if it were my own. I guess everyone can gain from his experience.
