Will I love Look Closer?

David Ellis had me hooked from the beginning of LOOK CLOSER. I had heard there was an amazing twist at the end and the other readers who told me that were right. I didn't see the ending coming! I heard a podcast interview with David Ellis and he mentioned that to help with surprise endings, he plots his books from the ending to the beginning. I found that fascinating and after reading LOOK CLOSER, I think it works well. Even knowing there was a big twist coming, I didn't completely guess the ending. The complexity of this novel's plot blew my mind. A must-read for mystery and domestic thriller lovers alike.

The perfect murder is not possible, right? Well…this book may have changed my mind! I don’t generally like brooding, self-absorbed characters, but Simon–ah, Simon, odd and way past cute-quirky. But somehow, Ellis makes him a compelling character. And the twists in what at first glance is a typical murder mystery with a spurned lover, a big trust fund, and lots of lies make a sharp 180-degree turn in the final pages.

As puzzles go, this book has it all. Dark history, long-held grudges, cross, double-cross…is triple-cross a thing? If not, it should be after this ending. And beware the Grim… show more.
