Why read it?
1 author picked Lone Rider as one of their favorite books. Why do they recommend it?
I so admire Elspeth's determination.
In 1982, aged 23, heartbroken Elspeth packed in her course in architecture, packed camping equipment and tools, and set off to ride around the world. Unlike myself, who learnt how my Royal Enfield Bullet worked as I went along, she dismantled and rebuilt her BMW motorcycle before she left London.
During the two and a half years she was away, she survived serious illnesses, crashes, corrupt police, brutal crashes, and assault. Despite all these mishaps, the book is full of uplifting stories and describes the surprising results upon her return.
From Jacqui's list on books that prove motorcycle adventurers aren't as fearless as they may seem.
