Why read it?

2 authors picked Link + Hud as one of their favorite books. Why do they recommend it?

Sandy Grubb

Author

I fell in love with these two brothers, Link and Hud, but I couldn’t help asking myself what I would do if I were one of their long line of failed babysitters. Their energy and hi-jinks would challenge anyone. At the same time those same characteristics make Link and Hud loveable and memorable. Never underestimate the creativity and intelligence of a child.

I hope all kids will embrace their imaginations and childhood years to have grand adventures. I loved the mix of comic book storytelling inserted within passages of text.

From Sandy's list on The best middle grade books about kids who love superheroes but don’t have superpowers themselves.

Christine Ma-Kellams

Author

My kid is at that in-between age where he is too old for board books and many picture books but too young for longer chapter books with no pictures, so this graphic novel/comic book was the perfect holdover.

When I ask him why he loves it, he says it’s because it’s funny how these two brothers are always pretending to be superheroes.
