Will I love Last of the Breed?

I was fascinated to see the skills of the protagonist at work in this novel. It made me feel as though I was right there in the colds of Siberia with him, running from his enemies and using his trapping skills to survive. Although the psyche of the protagonist might feel underdeveloped, the focus of the book is on his remarkable survival skills, and what he is willing to do to get himself to safety.  

When I first read this book as a kid in the late 1980s, it felt ripped from the headlines of the day, about an American Air Force pilot shot down over Russia who has to rely on his Native American heritage and ferocity to escape and survive in a vast, frozen wilderness.
