Why read it?

7 authors picked Journey of Souls as one of their favorite books. Why do they recommend it?

I’ve never read a series that made me feel both highly spiritual and completely grounded like Michael Newton’s Soul series did. These books shifted everything for me. They helped me see that my struggles—and even the difficult people in my life—from a higher perspective. This is when I began to understand that this life isn’t supposed to be all rainbows and butterflies.

Life here on Earth is a school, and we’re all here to learn. These books helped me remember that we’ve all played every role—every gender, every skin color, the villain, and the hero. I come back to them…

The experience of past life regression therapy is so impactful on your understanding of life on earth and in the thereafter that it transformed Michael Newton from an atheist into the spiritual believer he is today.

Through Newton's research and case studies, I found solace in knowing that our souls continue to evolve and learn between lives and that the trauma of past lives can often follow us into the present. The book's detailed accounts of the afterlife and soul’s journey provided deep insights, expanded my understanding of existence, and ignited a sense of purpose and interconnectedness that resonated deeply…

From Claudia's list on past lives that will help you heal.

During my decades of intensive metaphysical reading, I encountered good, bad, and mediocre books.

The best ones sparked not only intellectual interest, but stimulated my desire to learn more. Such books were difficult to set aside, as they revealed the enthralling experiences of ordinary people who got caught up in unexplained circumstances, all of which pointed the way to eternal life between physical lives.

When I picked Journey of Souls to read, I did not know that I was preparing the way for metaphysical episodes of my own, ie. out-of-body experiences and vision dreams, which would change the course of…

As one who has also continually, throughout my life, sought out new ways to understand our human lives and see a glimpse of what potentially occurs after we’ve left our bodies and left this planet, I’ve found that many hypotheses we hear or teachings we’re taught haven’t aligned with what I believe deep down.

But when I read this book, suddenly I found strong support and validation for my thoughts and beliefs (and for what I’ve personally experienced) in terms of what human life is about, what happens when we die, future and past lives, why we experience new lives,…

I recommend Journey of Souls because Dr. Newton actually describes how we choose to incarnate in a certain family and culture in order to develop our souls.

He describes how we come to Earth to develop ourselves and advance our spirituality, and then die and are reborn again for the same purposes.

The characters in my book are living out this pattern, and Dr. Newton’s book best describes how it all works.

When I read Journey of Souls for the first time, I was blown away at how compatible Michael’s findings were with the conclusions Robert Monroe reached during his hundreds of out-of-body experiences. Using a special hypnosis technique, Michael Newton was able to reach any memory of his subject, and over a long period of time, he was able to piece together a remarkably consistent picture of what can happen to us after we die and why we return. This is also remarkably consistent with most eastern spiritual perspectives. This book contains a series of transcripts with 29 patients, and it…

Journey of Souls is the culmination of one psychologist’s work over decades pertaining to understanding what happens to our souls after our bodies stop functioning. The similarities of descriptions (across thousands of patients under deep hypnosis) left me amazed and comforted that our souls make deliberate choices in an effort to improve, for lack of a better word, our karma. I read this book after I wrote my book, but it cemented the ideas that I present in the book. It also helped me to deal with challenging health issues in my family.
