Will I love Iron Lake?

I was stunned by the glimpses into another culture and by the beauty of the setting of this first story in a twenty+ book series.

Sheriff Cork O’Connor is a fascinating protagonist torn between the two cultures of his mixed-race family and struggling for balance and fairness on both sides.

Once I read this book, I knew I would keep reading until I read every one.

I can't believe I never noticed this series before. Dynamic book set in a rural town and an Indian Reservation with a main character who is a sheriff who is part white and part native american. The discord between the races sparks through the air as the sheriff finds that both groups are suspicious of him for the opposite reasons. I intend to read the entire series.

This is the first book I’ve read by William Kent Krueger, but it made me want to read the whole series. Set during a miserably cold winter in the northeast corner of Minnesota, a stone’s throw from Lake Superior, this mystery about a brutal murder and a missing native American boy will make you fear frostbite just from turning pages.
