I loved how each flawed character tried to learn the truth, while assuming the worst. Their efforts to protect their loved ones are gripping. And who doesn’t love an overprotective mother? The way Nicola makes mistakes, ignores advice and second-guesses her assumptions and actions is just magnificent. I was completely engrossed in the story's twists and reveals.
