Why read it?

2 authors picked How They Broke Britain as one of their favorite books. Why do they recommend it?

As Kagan offers a diagnosis for America's ills, so O'Brien anatomises what 14 years of Tory rule has done to Britain. Scathing, comprehensive broadside journalism of the old school. Remains to be seen if he needs to update it with a chapter on Keir Starmer's battles with the rightwing press.

James O'Brien describes events that I was present for, the stupidity of Brexit and its aftermath. However, to get O'Brien's take on this provides a counterpoint to my own and illuminates much about the sequence of events. I found myself having to revisit my own thinking about what happened, and learning more about O'Brien's villainous cast of characters. An excellent read.
