Will I love House of Earth and Blood?

House of Earth and Blood was the first new adult fantasy book that I read that made me fall back in love with the fantasy genre. I had rediscovered my love for reading in my late teens after not reading much for a few years. Bryce Quinlan reminded me a lot of myself. In that, she was the first lead female character who isn’t thin and petite. Rather, Bryce is curvy and different from other women that Sarah J. Maas has written. This book left me sitting on the edge of my seat.

It isn’t often I felt my body shape and fiery personality were portrayed by a fiction novel. However, Sarah Mass brought me to life with Bryce Quinlan. The adventure, heartache, turmoil, passion, and mystery that Mass created kept me not only involved but also wanting more. I highly recommend this read!

We all know SJM can spin an incredible tale, but this book takes a little bit to get into when you first start. Hold on through the set-up of MC Bryce Quinlan’s world and you will be richly rewarded in the end. Bryce is a headstrong, sarcastic woman who hasn’t had it easy, despite the fact that she’s the daughter of the fae Autumn King. Seeing Bryce finally come into her own and find someone who loves every bit of her sass keeps me waiting on the edge of my seat for each new installment of this series.
