Why read it?

1 author picked Free Fall as one of their favorite books. Why do they recommend it?

I loved the narration of this book: the protagonist is a painter being interrogated in a prison camp about his life.

It made me think about choices, different paths a person might go down. Here, the narrator feels guilty of some devastating event in the past. What, he wonders, caused his fall?  It makes me wonder with him if selfishness in love is an essential component in an artistic personality.

From Jad's list on guilt and suspense.
