Why read it?

1 author picked February as one of their favorite books. Why do they recommend it?

As a writer myself, I sometimes re-read books that particularly impressed me. February by Lisa Moore deals with the aftermath of a real 1982 disaster -- the sinking of the oil rig Ocean Ranger off the coast of Newfoundland. In her novel, Moore depicts the grief of one widowed mother, and shows how she must move beyond her grief in order to help her son. Beautifully written. A deeply human tale.
