Will I love Boy Detective?

This is a book series that poses mysteries that are short and fun to solve. The answers are not insultingly easy, nor are they so hard or obscure that kids can’t solve them. The main character is very likable and is described in a way that makes you feel like he is a kid you would want to be friends with.

No, not a magical world, but it was a pure joy seeing other kids being really clever. It was aspirational.

This author wrote in a way that made the reader feel like they, too, could work out the mystery alongside the characters while dodging (outsmarting) bullies. Every kid wants to be a hero. Sobol puts the reader in the driver’s seat.
