Why read it?

2 authors picked Creature as one of their favorite books. Why do they recommend it?

Catherine Cavendish

Author

Hunter Shea has provided me with many hours of creepy, scary enjoyment, but Creature, for me, is his best work to date.

The story rang true and authentic to me. The wife with a range of autoimmune illnesses, who needs a place to rest, and get mentally and physically well again. The close relationship she has with her husband and the gallows humour that helps to bond them and see them through the many daily crises of their lives together – all of this happening while, outside, in the woods, something frightening is lurking, biding its time.

Steve Stred

Author

While this book is a work of fiction, Shea infused a significant amount of non-fiction elements into the novel from his own life.

The story rampages along, starting out creepy at first–odd things happening around the lake cabin–but soon blossoms into a full-scale creature assault on the people within.

Heartstopping and heartbreaking, this is Shea’s best work to date.
