Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister was the first book I ever read that showed me the “bad guys” in the stories we grew up with are not always so bad. They have their own side of the story to tell. I immediately fell in love with this book.

It took the timeless Cinderella trope and turned it completely upside down. I no longer trusted any of the familiar stories I’d been told all my life.
