Clown Town is part of the Slough House series by Mick Herron that has been produced by Apple TV as SLOW HORSES (with Gary Oldman). The writing is captivating, but Mick does something NO other author does, or should do—he hops between characters MID-PARAGRAPH. As a writer, I'm aghast by this. There were a few times when I had to re-read to realize what had happen. For all his astonishing success, he needs a damn good editor :) But the tie-in with SLOW HORSES is so good you can picture the characters and they feel real.
