Will I love Clean Sweep?

Some might claim this book is more urban fantasy than science fiction, but the characters are aliens who fly spaceships and travel through portals, and to me, that means science fiction. And although they are vampires and werewolves, they’re still aliens. 

Dina Demille runs a bed and breakfast that serves a very special clientele—aliens visiting the protected planet Earth. Dina is an amazing protagonist. I adore Ilona Andrews’ works, regardless of series, as she never fails to keep me enthralled. But I highly recommend her Clean Sweep, the first in her Innkeeper Chronicles, that mixes elements of urban fantasy, science fiction, and a smidge of romance to keep things interesting.

Talk about finding family in the strangest places.

Dina has lost everyone: parents, brother, sister, and the sentient Inn that cared for them. Though her family is presumed dead or permanently missing, finding what became of them remains her goal. She starts with acquiring Gertrude Hunt, an Inn dying from neglect.

As she nurses the now bed-and-breakfast, she befriends a hostile werewolf, houses an ostracized monarch, seemingly filled with grace and integrity, while actually a murderer of millions, and a Pomeranian with razor teeth and other surprising talents.

Sometimes a book series just hits right. An urban fantasy blend of sci-fi, romance, and suspense, The Innkeeper Chronicles completely captivated me. Dina Demille runs a Texas bed and breakfast that caters to an otherworldly clientele. The B&B is sentient. Dina's "magic wand" is a broom. There are galactic vampires and werewolves. What more could you want?
