Will I love Atmosphere?

I didn’t know much about Atmosphere before I started it, but I was hooked from the first chapter and didn’t want it to end.

While fictional, the novel hit close to home growing up in the 1980’s in Houston, Texas. There were many references to Texas at that time, and the development of the space program felt nostalgic, while also providing fascinating new information.

I loved the main characters in the book, their complicated relationship, and the struggles they faced, given the time and circumstances. The characters and their story stuck with me long after I finished the book.

This book felt complex, multilayered, and absorbing

It evokes the world of the early 80's including the challenges facing women who wanted to be astronauts. Reid's ability to generate deep emotions in the reader is unmatched.

I didn’t expect to fall head over heels for 'Atmosphere' because - astronauts, space, stars, astronomy, but I did!
Taylor Jenkins Reid is such a gifted writer and master at creating compelling, believable characters. I was completely drawn into this incredibly space (love) story.
