Why read it?

4 authors picked All Your Twisted Secrets as one of their favorite books. Why do they recommend it?

This book is an awesome locked-room thriller about six teens who are invited to a dinner and find themselves trapped in a room with a bomb, a syringe filled with poison, and a note with instructions that they have to decide who among them to kill within the next hour or they’ll all be murdered.

There’s something about close-proximity thrillers that gets me every single time. As a person who is definitely not a big fan of enclosed spaces in real life, these types of books have me breathless.

In All Your Twisted Secrets, a group of teens is invited to a banquet to recognize exceptional students. However, when they arrive, they soon realize they’re locked alone in the banquet room with a single task: kill one of their own, or the villain will blow up the room, killing them all. This book takes place in a single hour, but uses extensive flashbacks to develop the characters’ motivations and to reveal the villain. Read if you love locked-room mysteries and thought the premise of Saw was cool but hated all the blood and guts.

The premise of this book had me breathless. I had to read it. In All Your Twisted Secrets six teens are invited to a fancy dinner only to be trapped in the dining room with a bomb. To keep it from exploding, they must administer a syringe full of poison to someone in the group. The teens remind me of John Hughes characters. They are a very Breakfast Club cast of teen archetypes that don’t get along and this makes for such great conflict. And this book examines a question I also explored in my latest novel—if you had to…

Six teens invited to a scholarship dinner are locked in the room with a bomb, a syringe full of poison, and a note saying they have to kill one person or they all die.

The Twist? Who locked them in the room? And if I say more than that I’ll spoil the jaw-dropping end to this one.

With the word twist in its title, All Your Twisted Secrets left me guessing with every page turned. The story alternates between the hour in the locked room and flashbacks to the months leading up to the ill-fated dinner. I enjoyed following Amber’s…
